It was hard to branch out of my comfort zone when I was younger, but I've found that with each journey I've become stronger, more confident, and life has been full.
You're thinking a lot about my ship at the moment hey! :) What colour you want your cabin to be? I'm getting pretty good. Tat already asked for pink glitter encrusted walls with a disco ball and a sparkly sequin floor ;)
Faye, you've hit the nail on the head. Breaking out of harbour is so good for us too.
Katey.... hmm... I'm stuck between sunshine yellow and apricot. Yellow! Can't wait to see Tat's cabin!!! Uh... for that matter, I can't wait to see Tat's face when she sees the cabin lol
I just looked it up and it is John A. Shedd. The wording I had was slightly different, but one source notes that there are several variations of this quote, the most common being "A ship in harbour is safe - but that is not what ships are built for."
Tssssk!! Puce clashes with the glitter walls!! I will be back later to superglue the sequin floor down so Tat doesn't get the urge to pick them all off and eat them .... PS : I don't know how to put up aurelian wallpaper ....
ReplyDelete? are you planning to take a voyage ?

Hey, that's my favorite quote. I never knew who said it.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming it's this guy, Jeremy. It's one of the quotes I have saved from ages back. Actually, it comes as no surprise that you love it : )

ReplyDelete*wondering now what aurelian paper is*
ReplyDeleteEither way, it's a great thought : )
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohmygod... ACK!!! ROFL! *Can't find words to express herself*
ReplyDeleteChoking on sequins, Tat? *laughing hard*
ReplyDeletePossibly.... *Pats self on back and tries to return to normal colour*
ReplyDeleteBut you were such a delightful shade of puce! ; )

Better not be superglue. Tat is an old hand at removing that stuff, from frequent encounters with sticking to herself ; )
ReplyDeleteAnyone know how to put up aurelian wallpaper then?
This is one of my favorite quotes, Tint. So glad you posted it... A timely reminder for some of us.
ReplyDeleteIt always reminds me of John ...thank you Tint.
