Kippy started a whole trend here with her pc. I'll blame her. I mean, it can't be my fault, can it?
In short, my woes started when my data drive died. I managed to recover some data, but most of the data appears to be damaged. Less than 24 hours later, my C drive started getting blue screens every few minutes, often not even completing the boot up before going into another blue screen cycle. We're now formatting and reloading my Windows to hopefully resolve the problem.
*huge sigh*
I need to be up and running soon. I have Skype students coming up, one of whom is new and needs to be convinced that Skype is the best thing since sliced cheese. It won't be easy to convince her if my pc is down... kinda.
This whole deal is driving me quietly insane. My schedule has been turned upside down this week and I have none of my resources on hand or my calendar or my students' details. I've been trying to get everything in snatches. There's still a lot to be said for paper. My problem has been coming up with lessons.... it's all on my data drive!
Anyway, I just thought I'd leave a note here to tell you all why I'm missing. Hopefully I'll be back soon. Don't have too much fun without me ; ) Ok, that was lame!
If ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING happens to my sexy, sleek new Christmas gifty that Bryan bought the family, Adrian, I will be blaming both of you once I stop crying. You've been warned LOL Doesn't even have to be your fault, or even an act of God or nature. You guys are on the shit list now LOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I knew that you were having c-issues but am glad that you had an opportunity to post this Tint because less than 3 hours ago I was looking at my list and was worrying about you. Hope everything is resolved very, very soon. XXX Marty
I'm so sorry ... I feel your pain! And for the record, I didn't start it ... Christi did! She called me a couple weeks ago and told me about her combo drive not working. Next thing I heard, she had to take the whole machine in to Apple to replace the logic board. So I blame it all on her! Also for the record, some of my backup data corrupted, too. I'm still holding my breath over some of it. I hope your issues get straightened out soon! I couldn't do any work without my computer, but then, I didn't have any work to DO, and you do! Fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteWill you stop! My pc is acting up too and I can't have that!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with yours ... I hope it will be sorted soon!
I hope I haven't just jinxed myself by even reading this!!!!

ReplyDeleteMultiply.....it's been acting sick. I say we blame it.
ReplyDeleteSolar flares. Umm... that's not a new weird swear phrase. LOL We're been getting solar flares off the sun lately. They whack electronics, sometimes knock out power grids. they can cause earthquakes too. Sun's restless this Spring and there's not much us humans can do but right out the storm. ((hugs)) for your woes and frustrations.

ReplyDeleteWow, I haven't been here forever, but I did have about two months of puter problems myself. Seems I had a damaged link stuck somewhere. Please don't ask for more detail; I just don't have it. lol.
ReplyDeleteactually think about it, I can blame Kippy too for my PC trouble this weekend then ?/ Did she start that huge big storm, that took out our TV, PC, Geyser and Intercom just for starters???
ReplyDeleteNo, no! You have to blame my friend Christi! She started it all! haha.
