On my way to work... tomorrow...

A preview of me going to work tomorrow...

Yep... it's raining again. The thunder just now made me shoot two feet out of my chair. The cat and dog vanished. Apparently this is here to stay. My trip to and from work should be interesting.

  7. Hopefully, you can swim, and all thing does not get as bad as Australian inner sea ;)
While you're struggling with all this extra water, I'm coping with ice's tricks - the thaw of early January is over, cold is back, and for once more I have to get in to my car using passenger's side door as the driver's one is frozen - while I can unlock the door, I'm still unable to open it. And it takes some time + plus some extra heating to unfreeze it and be able to get out of car properly. But, well, afterwards, I have to repeat the routine of getting the other way round into my car. So for now I'm thinking of making some unplanned shopping trip to a mall with a nice underground, thus heated ;) , garage, and luckily that will help to melt all that ice and problem would be solved at least for a while.

  13. Well, I didn't have to wade to work, but the mud tide lines were above the car's tyres at the metro station. I'm once again sitting here listening to the familiar sound of rumbling thunder. Hope the temperature drops with it.

    Thanks everyone! : )

Asta, I remember your lock freezing. Pity you can't carry a thermos of warm water with you to melt the lock, but that water will sit in there and freeze too. Hm... a hairdryer? : )

  14. Well, this time round the locks are oiled and I can easily unlock them. Frozen locks is like nothing compared to frozen doors I've got now. It is way easier to unfreeze the lock than door. And right now I've got a situation when I can unlock the lock itself, but the door frame or whatever is frozen to the spot, and so far the only way of getting into my car is through passenger side door, which somehow just never gets frozen (except for it's lock). So unfortunately thermos of hot water would not help me out here. But good news here already, a trip to a shopping center and underground parking the re helped me a lot - if it won't get really freezing here, then my freshly unfrozen door should work for a while :D

  15. Glad you made it there and back again safely. The Southern Hemisphere seems to be ridiculously wet this year. Is Brazil's agricultural output suffering?

  16. Oh wow, Asta! I never thought that the entire door could get stuck! I'm glad you have somewhere to defrost. That definitely makes life interesting though.

Ien, it definitely is suffering. Our root veggies are awful (or at least the selection we're seeing here). I strongly suspect we're facing a hike in prices.
