  3. Poor Tint! Got earplugs? Kleenex to wedge in the ears? There's room in our camper here!!

  4. Annette, I'm traumatised. If Holland doesn't win, this will go on the whole weekend!

Faye, there's a limit to how long I can plug my ears. Perhaps I should tuck into the dog and cat's tranquilliser. I think I may take you up on that camper offer.

  10. Of course we have fireworks. And some sort of gas horn (the noise is even more terrible than a vuvuzela).

  18. The commentaries on the Brazilian sites were interesting. Brazilians gave up a good 10 minutes towards the end of the game. There are a few desultory fireworks going off... but all is otherwise quiet. No partying tonight *whew*!

  19. "Fim de jogo em Port Elizabeth" and in São Paulo : )

  20. I feel for them (a little bit, lol). When you are considered one of the best soccer teams in the world and you are beaten in the QF, that's hard!
But then again, same for us! We ARE one of the best soccer teams in the world ... LOL

  22. I think Brazil was riding on its past fame. This will be a huge wake-up call for them. I'm just selfishly grateful that I'll have a peaceful weekend after all and work will return to normal : )

  23. Just heard it on TV .. it's the first time since 1974 we have won from Brazil! History has been made here! LOL

  27. So what did they do with the vuvuzelas?!! Totally agree with kip, this is way better than actually watching it!!!

  28. I wore orange today. Ok, it was a corally orange, but it passed for orange. Trouble is, there was no one to appreciate it. I've worn my orange "Wie's jou tannie?" t-shirt for most of the week lol

  29. aangenaam!!! Had to look it up, K!

  31. I was wondering who you were rooting for!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Um....Congratulations? lol.

  33. Hahahaha! I had to google vuvuzelas. I had an idea what they were, but what popped up was "World Cup Organizers will not ban vuvuzelas" Sorry baby. :)

  34. Ien, there was never any doubt. You know how I feel about Brazil and fanatical-about-football Brazil is so much worse. But then, I was never really supporting any team, rather just hoping for peace and quiet... which I didn't get anyway because the local children have rediscovered vuvuzelas as toys *sigh*

LOL Kat! Dubious congrats? ; ) You're so lucky you had no idea what vuvuzelas are. They're honestly a plague on mankind.
