Some blocks are in Consolação and others are in Santa Cecília.”
“But say I tell someone I live in Santa Cecília, that person will go to Santa Cecília.”
“They might well find me, I actually work in Santa Cecília.”
“To eliminate doubt, use 'I live in Angélica', that way, there is no mistake.”
“Officially, Higienópolis doesn't exist, neither does Pacaembu. Only Consolação and Santa Cecília.”

That's the translation, Ien. Unfortunately, it won't help much, as one needs to know the areas being spoken of. Higienópolis and Pacaembu are both upmarket areas, while Consolação and Santa Cecilia are definitely not, so that is a real come-down for residents there in terms of address. Many who actually live in Consolação and Santa Cecilia give Higienópolis and Pacaembu as their address because it sounds better.~° Tint °~http://tintalasia.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-6831447638594945982010-09-04T06:07:38.000+01:002010-09-04T06:07:38.000+01:00Well-painted scenes you have penned here!Well-painted scenes you have penned here!Faye Rhttp://chickiebaby.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-82104621056265524032010-08-30T05:03:31.000+01:002010-08-30T05:03:31.000+01:00Fascinating. I tried making sense of the Portuguese, but did not get much beyond that it was impossible to get an answer to the question: Is this Santa Cecilia? Oh, and someone works there. There has been a lot of sameness here; one small town or city not so different from another - but recently there are some Asian pockets appearing with one suburban shopping centre that does not even attempt to supply an English translation. Best place to buy fish and exotic vegetables if I ignor the staring. I am also seeing more and more 'gated' communities appearing in New Zealand - I doubt I would ever be permitted to go through those gates.Lois Hhttp://loish.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-65200929051900240922010-08-29T01:40:37.000+01:002010-08-29T01:40:37.000+01:00Interesting :)Interesting :)Cheryl Lynnhttp://cheryljasper.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-27695505969681105512010-08-29T01:31:11.000+01:002010-08-29T01:31:11.000+01:00I enjoy your musings.I enjoy your musings.**Kat **http://magickat.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.com
