If not, a cry of "No Fair!" goes up.

Kippy, a sad Great Dane defies imagination... I so agree. Perhaps they get that reputation because it's kind of hard to show your grin when your jowls are so big *laugh*

Jaime, I remember you talking about that ice cream ball thing. Do you still use it?

Ah Jaime, when a Dane wants to 'blend', he may try to trick you into believing his part of the carpeting and you'll trip over him ; ) My friend had this minuscule Yorkie who'd fall asleep at my feet (or on my shoulder)... or would be skittering around. I had to walk with my eyes glued to the ground. I'm passionate about Great Danes! They are absolutely not a freak of nature. A more goofy, loving, loyal dog I have yet to find. They're full of fun and most definitely not sad. If you know a sad Great Dane, look at the owner and ask yourself why. As far as their age is concerned, my last Dane was 10 when I said goodbye to him and yes, he had a few more years in him. Friends of ours had a dignified 14 year old.

I hope that some day you'll take the time out to actually get to know a Great Dane before judging the entire 'race' : ) They're fantastic dogs. Having said that, they're not for everyone due to their size and high energy levels. Me? I'll take a Great Dane over a 5 pound dog any day. At least I can't accidentally stand on it.~° Tint °~http://tintalasia.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-71173213302852872912010-07-22T07:00:46.000+01:002010-07-22T07:00:46.000+01:00*laughs Awesome! We've made homemade frozen cream stuff in the past for pups... doesn't taste as good as ours does, but it was better for them (apparently) plus we used those "toss ball" ice cream makers, so we got a crazy workout trying to make the stuff too.

In the future, I will wait for the Ice Cream Man. ;o)JinJa Kinghttp://jadedtales.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-72528156626817515232010-07-22T06:13:49.000+01:002010-07-22T06:13:49.000+01:00awwwwww - vanilla and strawberry pleaseawwwwww - vanilla and strawberry pleaseAnnette Zanghttp://sattva2.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-39251160917854031762010-07-22T05:36:56.000+01:002010-07-22T05:36:56.000+01:00I'm trying to figure out how a great dane is a...I'm trying to figure out how a great dane is any more a "freak of nature" than a dog that is 4 years old and 5 pounds. Hm. Six years is also a very low figure, as many great danes, as knowledge increases about them and how to properly care for them, live regularly 9-10 years and often even more. My great dane was anything but "sad" and I think the sadder thing is people who bring a great dane into their home without the understanding of what they're getting themselves into and then abandon them. Great danes are wonderful, loving companions, like many other dogs.Kippy Spilkerhttp://geminaigraphics.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-51923151357111031882010-07-22T04:47:52.000+01:002010-07-22T04:47:52.000+01:00Ah, that's so cute.

He is four years old and weighs five pounds and one ounce.
On a more serious side Great Danes are the saddest dogs of all. They are freaks of nature and only live to be six years old if they are lucky.
For that reason I would never get a Great Dane.Erika Royhttp://esoterika713.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-23151088040129495542010-07-22T04:47:26.000+01:002010-07-22T04:47:26.000+01:00

Macduff used to get the end of the icecream in the tub and he would lick that tub back and forth across the kitchen for ages until every last smidgen was licked. :)Katey kaleidoscopehttp://kateykaleidoscope.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-75478163925449613952010-07-22T00:19:41.000+01:002010-07-22T00:19:41.000+01:00There used to be a TCBY in Gardnerville (frozen yo...There used to be a TCBY in Gardnerville (frozen yogurt) and when I lived in town, every once in a while I'd take Lucaya for a walk. Not too often, cuz the traffic scared him. But we'd sometimes stop for frozen yogurt and I will never forget the day the kid behind the counter brought out this humongous bowl of vanilla yogurt for him (I'm ashamed to admit I'd never even thought of giving him any before that). Luc laid right down with the bowl between his paws and ate every last bit. He looked like a king! :) Every time after that, I'd always buy him some when we stopped. What a huge kindness that kid showed. :) Still makes me smile.Kippy Spilkerhttp://geminaigraphics.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11695149.post-9732924592863539422010-07-22T00:16:45.000+01:002010-07-22T00:16:45.000+01:00INSTANT smile material!! :DINSTANT smile material!! :DKippy Spilkerhttp://geminaigraphics.multiply.comnoreply@blogger.com
